What is it about Christmas that completely messes up training? If you know me, you'll know that I'm not exactly a fan of this time of the year. However, what I was looking forward to was empty roads and plenty of friends around to help me log some miles over the last couple of weeks. Has it happened though? It seems that although I had some pretty big plans, the general lethargy of the period has left me on the sofa playing xbox. A break perhaps will have done me good, but it just made me chuckle that given my complete lack of christmas spirit, its still left me with a full stomach and a nasty throat infection. Is there no escaping!?
Quite a lot has changed in the last month or so. I am now personal training in the gym, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Making lots of new contacts there now too which is all proving very useful. Not all of them are sports related-befriending a dentist has proven to be very helpful recently. Damn those powerbars! I go into the office in a couple of days to officially give back all of my BT assets to someone-not entirely sure who as of yet, but to be honest, I'm not bovvered init :-) Going into work now isn't such a chure, and although its going to mean a few less of life's luxuries, I absolutely 100% made the right choice to get out of the corporate world. What am I doing tomorrow? Riding my bike and then swimming (throat allowing). Would I rather be in an office trying to balance a spreadsheet? No chance!
Happy training
Mike
